Jobs skills development
QFF has been actively engaged in an Intensive Agriculture Employment Initiative since 2008, where a dedicated project officer has helped individuals, communities and community groups gain access to government assistance programs across a range of services, especially those that help deal with drought and extreme climate events.
In 2011 QFF accepted the opportunity to focus on a one-off opportunity to boost government funding of jobs and skills projects that can help rural industries recover from the catastrophic flood and cyclone events of 2010-2011. QFF is one of 11 industry groups and 19 regional councils that have secured funding for 2011-12 under the NDRRA Jobs and Skills Package to help boost recovery efforts.
Details of the overall project can be found here. QFF’s specific project activities in brief periodic reports. The contact officer is Peter Perkins.
