Sustainable Agriculture

There is an increasing community focus on the sustainable use of natural resources and the consumer and market is continually demanding clean and green agricultural produce. Therefore, QFF plays an important role on two fronts. The first is in promoting the very high standards of environmental management being adopted on Queensland farms. The second is working with our members and farmers to make further enhancements to agricultural systems, where possible, practical, and sustainable. Therefore, QFF regularly convenes its Sustainable Agriculture Taskforce to canvass these issues. Just some of the important environmental and natural resources management issues of focus include:
- Agricultural chemicals
- Great Barrier Reef management
- Land use planning and development
- On-farm planning and management
- Regional NRM arrangements
- Salinity
- Vegetation Management
- Water quality
- Weather, climate and greenhouse gas management

- Weeds and pest animals.
