Workforce & Skills

QFF recognise that the future prosperity and sustainability of all agricultural industries is inextricably linked to their most vital input, the people. Workforce and skills are essential for our sector to attract and retain the right people.

Governments play a major role in people development but don’t always see the link between education and jobs, particularly when you move outside cities. Even when governments claim to be “jobs focused” this rarely translates into clear direction for their workforce and skills departments.

This is why QFF has created an Education and Training program – to make sure our agricultural industries remain closely engaged with the workforce and skills sectors and that governments will listen to what industry advises is needed for our people and jobs of the future.

QFF invests in projects that assist the Queensland Agricultural industries in attracting, training and retaining appropriately skilled workers. QFF plays an active role in projects and partnerships that impact on skills development across the spectrum.

This is achieved through a structured research and industry engagement program known as the Rural Jobs and Skills Alliance (RJSA). Current initiatives such as:
