There are a number of funding assistance programs that can help you realise energy efficiency savings on your site.
Energy Efficient Communities
Grants of between $5,000 and $20,000 are now available to small businesses to improve their energy efficiency through the Energy Efficient Communities Program – Small Business Grants. These grants may be used for equipment and component improvements, energy audits, feasibility studies and/or energy use and emission monitoring.
You can find out more about this program HERE.
There is a separate allocation of $800,000 for Queensland dairies under this program HERE.
Banks and other lenders
Energy efficiency loans are becoming more widely available in the marketplace. These loan products are tailored to overcoming barriers to energy efficiency implementation. In practice these loans are similar to equipment financing with preferable rates or longer loan periods. Speak to your Business Banker or equivalent for more information.
Additionally, the Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA) have Sustainability Loans that support Queensland primary producers focused on improving their profitability and productivity. Sustainability Loans are provided at a concessional rate with no fees and charges to encourage uptake of energy efficient and innovative technologies and processes. Producers are encouraged to consider linking additional on-farm development work.
