Join QFFs CEO, Jo Sheppard and special guest James Walker, who hosts the Longreach Solar Farm on his property Camden Park Station.
Queensland is well placed to be a renewable energy powerhouse with an abundance of sunshine and wind. Since 2015 Queensland has grown from 7% to over 20% renewable energy generation with the target to reach 50% by 2030. With increasing interest in the development of renewable energy projects, an increasing number of landholders are considering hosting developments on their property.
Queensland Farmers’ Federation in partnership with the Department of Energy and Public Works, is preparing a landholder toolkit and guide to assist landholders as they respond to and negotiate with energy industry representatives about accessing land for renewable energy projects.
James will talk about why he decided to diversify into renewable energy and how he worked with the developer as they delivered the project. He’ll discuss the key phases of negotiations and what to expect from the planning and development process.
After the Webinar, you’ll understand the development process, what to expect from the development and operation of a solar farm on your land and how to prepare to negotiate with prospective developers.
