Leading Queensland’s intensive, semi-intensive and irrigated agriculture industries into a sustainable, productive and profitable future will be the focus of the Queensland Farmers’ Federation’s (QFF) new leadership team.
Dr Georgina Davis has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) as outgoing CEO Travis Tobin moves onto new challenges with the Cattle Council of Australia in Canberra. While Allan Dingle has transitioned from his current role as QFF Vice President and taken over the reins from President Stuart Armitage who is returning to his cotton farm on the Darling Downs.
Beginning her new role as QFF CEO today, Dr Georgina Davis brings 25 years of experience to the position.
“Advocating on behalf of and representing QFF’s more than 13,000 primary producers across Queensland is a significant responsibility as farmers face the cumulative effects of significant impacts on their businesses,” Dr Davis said.
“I look forward to supporting and striving for a better deal for Queensland’s farmers and highlighting the exceptional quality of the food, fibre and foliage they produce and the amenity they provide.”
The QFF Presidency is another feather in the cap for Allan Dingle who farms sugarcane, soybeans and fodder crops on his 230 hectare irrigated property at Bundaberg.
Allan was appointed a Director of QFF in 2014 and has been the Vice President since 2017. Allan has also served on several other regional and state level boards including CANEGROWERS, Bundaberg Regional Irrigators Group, the Bundaberg Grain and Cane Co-op, and the Bundaberg District Groundwater Advisory Committee.
“Queensland’s farmers have a lot to be proud of as they provide the highest quality produce for people at home in Australia and many more around the world,” Mr Dingle said.
“I appreciate this opportunity to further represent my fellow farmers as QFF collaborates with industry, government and the community to overcome existing challenges and realise the opportunities for the future of the state’s agriculture sector.”
The new leadership team thanked Mr Tobin and Mr Armitage for their expertise, commitment and valuable contributions to the success of QFF during their time as CEO and President respectively.
