QFF has delivered relief and recovery projects for severe natural disasters including Cyclones Larry (2006) and Yasi (2011), the 2011 Queensland floods, flooding associated with Cyclone Oswald (2013), Cyclone Marcia (2015), Cyclone Debbie (2017).
Our role in these events has been to manage the industry recovery program, ensuring landholders can access the information, advice and technical support needed to ensure they a full recovery. Importantly, QFF has increased the focus on resilience planning through the Farm Business Resilience Program and the project, Managing the Financial Impact of Weather Risks on the Australian agriculture sector.
Primary producers are encouraged to use the Disaster Impact Survey to alert the Queensland Government and their Industry Group of a disaster impact.
