Industry Skills and Jobs Advisor Program
Industry Skills and Jobs Advisors (ISJAs) bridge the gap between industry and training, providing evidence-based advice on workforce trends, skills gaps, and employment opportunities.
Insights gathered through consultations and Industry Reference Groups inform training priorities, program design, and investment decisions within the national VET framework. The project aims to strengthen workforce pathways, improve industry confidence in training, and ensure skills development aligns with real-world industry demand.
How ISJAs support industry
Direct input from industry is essential to ensure training and workforce solutions meet real on-farm and supply-chain needs.
Industry Skills and Jobs Advisors facilitate Industry Reference Groups across the agriculture and horticulture sectors. These groups bring together employers, peak bodies, Jobs and Skills Councils, commodity groups, industry associations, union and school representatives, and other stakeholders committed to strengthening excellence across the agriculture and horticulture industries.
Engage directly with employers and stakeholders through one-on-one meetings, group forums, and Industry Reference Groups.
Provide evidence-based advice on regional skills needs, training solutions, and workforce development.
Align training priorities with industry needs, including program design, investment decisions, and practical skilling solutions.
Contribute to national VET reform and the development of training packages.
Connect industry with relevant training programs, initiatives, and events.
Through this work, Industry Skills and Jobs Advisors ensure training and skills development are practical, responsive, and industry-led, supporting a strong and capable workforce across Queensland’s agriculture and horticulture sectors helping industry build capability and support the development of funding proposals to access Government funding.
