SmartAg Queensland is supporting the agriculture sector in Queensland to attract, train and retain workforce and skills. 

SmartAg Queensland is an industry-led and government supported initiative designed to respond to the needs of farmers by subsidising relevant training. Through SmartAg Queensland, farmers can access accredited, non-accredited and micro-credential training to support their agricultural enterprise to attract, train, and retain a skilled and diverse workforce.

SmartAg Queensland can offer subsidised training under the pillars of safety, production, technology and business. To be eligible for the subsidised training, you must be involved in plant-based agriculture and over 15 years of age.

Access Subsidised Safety Training

The following safety training courses are currently being supported by SmartAg Queensland with the subsidy rate listed beside them.

  • First Aid (50%)

  • Forklift (25%)

  • Pilot/escort (25%)

  • Working at heights (25%)

  • Working in confined spaces (25%)

  • Chemical accreditation (25%)

Please note that applying does not mean you are guaranteed approval and that applying on behalf of a group of interested participants will take priority over requests for training for 1 individual.

Growers in the plant industries are invited to submit an expression of interest form training in their area.
