  4. eastAUSmilk is asking the Queensland Government to prioritise the state’s dairy industry ahead of the Olympics, with current market forces threatening the viability of fresh, quality Queensland dairy products. Read more here.
  5. Canegrowers is calling on political leaders to commit to meaningful reforms that will reduce crippling power prices and address insurance issues impacting farmers’ ability to manage risk. Read more here.
  6. The Mobil Card network has expanded with 16 new Mobil Card acceptor locations in Northern Queensland. QFF’s peak agricultural body members, and their members, can save on Mobil fuels through the Mobil Card. Find out more here.
  7. The Australian Communications and Media Authority has updated legislation to address concerns about mobile phones that may not be able to connect to the 000-emergency call service, due to the shutdown of the 3G mobile network which commences today. Telstra will notify affected customers and provide them with information about alternative mobile phones. Learn more here.
  8. Applications are now open for the Agricultural Extension Work Placement Program, connecting extension professionals with host agribusinesses or NRM organisations to assist landholders in the Great Barrier Reef catchments. The 15-month work placements will start in early 2025. Apply here.
  9. Community members in the Isaac, Whitsunday, and Mackay regions are invited to the next Queensland Community Renewables Forum in Nebo on Thursday, November 28, 2024. This forum will explore large-scale renewable energy projects and their impact on local communities. Register here.
