- Following the announcement of several inquiries aimed at investigating supermarkets and whether they are treating consumers and growers fairly, Queensland Fruit & Vegetable Growers are calling on the Federal Government to commit to an armistice on any changes that will further drive-up costs for growers. - The Queensland Competition Authority (QCA) is currently undertaking a review of the irrigation pricing practices of Seqwater and Sunwater, which will recommend irrigation prices from 2025 to 2029. Stakeholder submissions for the review are open until 29 February 2024. Have your say here.
- The Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries is seeking enthusiastic individuals to become biosecurity ambassadors. As an ambassador, you will play a vital role in educating and engaging communities in biosecurity practices. Apply here by Friday 9 February.

- QFF’s Energy Southern Queensland (EnergySQ) program is helping farmers in the Southern Downs, Western Downs, Toowoomba and Goondiwindi regional council areas to understand and manage their on-farm energy consumption and identify ways to reduce their energy spend and carbon footprint. - The Australian Government has released the Australian Energy Infrastructure Commissioners’ Community Engagement Review, which was commissioned last year with the aim of improving community engagement regarding renewable energy infrastructure developments. Read more here.
