QFF member Queensland Fruit & Vegetable Growers (QFVG) is delivering the Southeast Queensland Horticultural Best Management Practice (SEQ Hort BMP) Incentive Program to support growers across the SEQ region implement practical changes to deliver lasting benefits for crop health, yields, and water quality.   3. Queensland cane growers expect Sugar Terminals Limited to put the interests of the sugar industry first when it formally takes over operation of the state’s bulk sugar terminals on 1 July. Read CANEGROWERS media release here.
  4. Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE) has been chosen as the first recipient of funding under a new Queensland Government initiative, with its RealTime Ag project aimed at increasing regional workforce participation and improving long term retention of agricultural workers in the Darling Downs region. Read more here.
  5. From 30 June, all Australian mobile providers are now required to follow a new standard for displaying mobile coverage. As a result, Telstra’s coverage maps - and those of other providers - will look different. This is only a change to how coverage is displayed on maps. There's no change to the real-world coverage you experience. Read more here.

Greenlife Industry Queensland’s (GIQ) Queensland Garden Show is on this weekend, 10-12 July, at the Nambour Showgrounds and is a must-visit event for seasoned green thumbs and budding gardeners alike. GIQ is also hosting the Greenscapes + Green Expo 2026 in Brisbane on August 5-6 which QFF’s Industry Recovery and Resilience Officers will be attending. Learn more and register here.
  7. Seven new graduates recently joined QFF’s growing alumni of nearly 40 extension officers who’ve completed the 15-month Agricultural Extension Work Placement Program (AEWPP). Read more about the most recent cohort here.
