- Cotton Australia has said the signs for this season’s cotton crop are positive with Australian growers expecting to generate around 4.4 million bales or one million tonnes of quality fibre. Read more here.
- Last week the Queensland Government released an updated Wind Code following consultation with QFF and other industry groups. Read more here. The Queensland Government have also released their Draft Renewables Regulatory Framework for community feedback until 6 December 2024.
- The Queensland Invasive Plants and Animals Strategy 2025–2030 has been released. The strategy is a statewide framework which includes strategic actions to guide the prevention and management of invasive plants and animals over the next 5 years. Learn more here.

- New research has found that if fire ants are able to continue to spread across the state, they will kill six people and cost Queensland households $188 million a year. Read more here.
- Queensland LNP has announced it will provide $30 million to establish the Sowing the Seeds of Farming Innovation fund if elected. Read more here.
- QFF joins the National Farmers’ Federation in welcoming the announcement of $30 million over three years to increase ACCC funding for investigations and enforcement relating to the supermarket and retail sector. Read more here.
