- The newly rebuilt Queensland Farmers’ Federation (QFF) website is now LIVE. The new site has improved newsroom services, project information, eventsfunction and advocacy resources. See the new site HERE.
- Egg Farmers of Australia (EFA) and QFF industry members Queensland United Egg Producers (QUEP) have welcomed the release of the exposure draft for the free range egg information standard. See draft standard HERE. EFA statement HERE.
- It is the last sitting week of federal parliament and the Backpacker Tax issue remains unresolved. Action must be taken this week to end the uncertainty for Queensland’s growers and producers. Details HERE.

- The second round of Queensland Feral Pest Initiative funding is now OPEN. Local governments, regional NRM groups, Landcare and industry are being encouraged to submit regional expressions of interest before 2 December 2016.
- Queensland’s largest sugar cane farmer MSF Sugar has won the rural category in the Premier’s Sustainability Awards. The company has aimed to achieve CANEGROWERS Smartcane BMP accreditation for all of its properties.

- QFF industry member Growcom is hosting two ‘Composting to build better soils‘ workshops in Bowen (24/11) & Ayr (25/11). Full details available HERE.
- Queensland’s general Beneficial Use Approval (BUA) framework for both biosolids and sugar mill by-products has been approved and are in effect until 31 December 2018. See details HERE.
- Coles and Woolworths have maintained that their cheap milk remains a vital part of the dairy shelf by confirming that there are no plans to scrap $1 a litre milk. The claims were made at the Senate Economic Committee’s dairy inquiry.
