- The Backpacker Tax is set for resolution this week with Coalition announcing a compromise tax rate of 15%. The amended rate appears to be supported by key cross bench senators. See Growcom’s statement HERE.
- Murray Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) has released its Northern Basin Review recommending that the plan require 320GL of water to be recovered. See QFF & the #morethanflow response HERE. Upcoming Queensland community consultation details HERE.
- The Finance & Administration Committee has tabled its report on the ‘Farm Business Debt Mediation Bill 2016 and Rural and Regional Adjustment (Development Assistance) Amendment Bill 2016’. Full report HERE. QFF submission HERE.
- National Farmers Federation (NFF) has elected a new President, Liverpool Plains farmer and grazier Fiona Simson. Ms Simson has previously served as Vice President of NFF and President of NSW Farmers.
- QFF industry member Growcom has elected a new Chair Les Williams, a pineapple grower from Wamuran. Mr Williams currently represents Growcom on the QFF board and sits on the QFF Policy Council.
- Regional Queenslanders are being encouraged to have their say on how climate change is affecting their communities through a series of workshops. Workshops details HERE.

- CropLife Australia has released its MyAgCHEMuse: Best Practice Reference Guide he most up-to-date advice and tools to help manage spray drift.. The guide is available online HERE.
- The Australian Wheatbelt Survey on Agricultural Production and Ecological Principles is OPEN until at least 15 December. This survey is open to Australian Wheatbelt farmers and NRM professionals. Take the survey HERE.
