  1. The 18 month long backpacker tax saga has finally been resolved with the compromise 15 per cent tax rate passing both houses of the Australian Parliament last night. QFF statement HERE. (cont.)
  2. QFF thank and acknowledge the sustained and coordinated lobbying efforts of campaign partners; QFF industry members Growcom & Cotton Australia; the National Farmers’ Federation; and the Queensland Tourism Industry Council.
  3. The state Government has responded to the recommendations to the QPC Electricity Pricing Inquiry Final Report. QFF has welcomed the government’s $10 million Regional Business Support Package. QFF statement HERE.
  4. The Federal and State Governments have submitted their updated progress report on the ‘Reef 2050 Plan‘ to the United Nations (UNESCO) last week. See the report HERE.

  8. QFF industry members Queensland Dairyfarmers’ Organisation (QDO) has welcomed the introduction of the s46 ‘effects test’ legislation 2016 into the Federal Parliament. QDO statement HERE.
