The Queensland Farmers’ Federation has announced the appointment of new CEO, Travis Tobin, who commenced on 30 May 2016.
Mr Tobin joins QFF coming from the Federal Department of Agriculture and Water Resources, having been a Departmental Liaison Officer for the Minister’s office and an Adviser to the Minister.
In announcing the appointment, QFF President Stuart Armitage stated; “Travis is a leader who understands the challenges facing advocacy organisations in meeting the needs of members in a dynamic political and economic climate.”
“The QFF board and I look forward to working with Travis to continue building on QFF’s work as the collective voice for intensive agricultural industries in Queensland.”
Mr. Tobin has a long association agricultural industries, with roles as a Director of food exports and commodity integrity programs, establishing a new extension services for the rice industry, agribusiness banking and previous involvement in his family’s sheep and cattle business in the western division of NSW.
The Queensland Farmers’ Federation is the united voice of intensive agriculture in Queensland. It is a federation that represents the interests of 17 of Queensland’s peak rural industry organisations, which in turn collectively represent more than 13,000 primary producers across Queensland.
