QFF CEO Dan Galligan resigns

QFF President Joanne Grainger has announced that the Federation board has accepted the resignation of the CEO Dan Galligan. Mr Galligan has led the organisation for just over six years.

He will conclude his employment on May 8 2015.

“Dan has capably led the organisation since 2009 and in that time has enhanced the reputation of QFF, delivering positive outcomes for Queensland farmers and establishing an effective operating structure for the organisation,” Ms Grainger said.

“He has led the QFF through a range of complex policy negotiations for Queensland farmers including issues that involved the interface between the mining and farming sectors and the response to multiple natural disasters.

“We have been fortunate to have had the benefit of his skills and knowledge and we wish him every success in the next stage of his career.”

In tendering his resignation, Mr Galligan thanked the QFF Directors, Councillors, Members and staff that he has worked with over the years and commended them for their very high standard of professionalism and expertise.

“Their contributions have assisted in positioning the organisation as a strong and respected voice for the intensive agricultural sector in Queensland,” Mr Galligan said.

The Board of QFF has agreed to move promptly and go to the market to recruit a new CEO.
