The Queensland Farmers’ Federation (QFF) has congratulated Leanne Donaldson MP on her promotion to the role of Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries.
Yesterday afternoon Premier Annastacia Palaszcuk announced her new look Cabinet including a new Agriculture and Fisheries Minister.
QFF President Stuart Armitage said he looked forward to working with Ms. Donaldson in furthering and growing the Queensland’s intensive agricultural industries which currently make up 5.1% of the State’s GDP, or $14.5 billion.
“I look forward to sitting down with Ms. Donaldson and discussing our industry member’s positions and how government and industry can work together.”
“Agriculture in Queensland is set to prosper from emerging openings in Asian markets. We need the right government and industry support to properly take advantage of these opportunities.”
“QFF will be looking for leadership from Ms. Donaldson in understanding and supporting both industry and market led drivers in our sector.”
“QFF are looking forward to building upon its already constructive working relationship with the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.”
The Queensland Farmers’ Federation is the united voice of intensive agriculture in Queensland. It is a federation that represents the interests of 16 of Queensland’s peak rural industry organisations, which in turn collectively represent more than 13,000 primary producers across Queensland.
