Queensland Farmers’ Federation welcomes new President

THE Queensland Farmers’ Federation has today welcomed Darling Downs Queensland cotton grower, Stuart Armitage, as the organisation’s new president.

Queensland Farmers’ Federation held its annual general meeting today with Mr. Armitage being elected unopposed.

Joanne Grainger completed her limited term as QFF President and remains on the board as a director alongside Les Williams, Allan Dingle and re-elected Vice-President Brian Tessmann.

QFF CEO Ruth Wade said Stuart’s appointment brought extensive experience in rural industry and agricultural representation to the organisation.

Stuart previously served on the QFF board as a director and is also is currently a board member of Cotton Australia.

The Queensland Farmers’ Federation is the united voice of intensive agriculture in Queensland. It is a federation that represents the interests of 16 of Queensland’s peak rural industry organisations, which in turn collectively represent more than 13,000 primary producers across Queensland.
