Water Use Efficiency Trial Project

Water efficiency project 2
Water efficiency project 1

The Water Use Efficiency Trial Project helps South East Queensland farmers understand their water use.

It also supports farmers to identify gaps and barriers to on-farm efficiency, and to strengthen their water literacy.

The QFF Water Use Efficiency Trial will run in the South East Queensland Regional Water Assessment area to review on-farm water practices and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.

Project focus
The project supports South East Queensland farmers to understand their water use, identify gaps and barriers to efficiency, and build water literacy across the region’s agricultural sector.

Trial activities
The trial will engage a consultant from Goanna Ag to work with a small group of growers. They will carry out on-farm water assessments and provide each participant with a customised water use report. The trial’s findings and recommendations will be shared with other growers at an end-of-trial workshop.

Funding
This project is funded by the SEQ City Deal and administered by the Council of Mayors (SEQ).

Our project partner
