  1. QFF and our peak body members Canegrowers, Cotton Australia and Queensland Fruit & Vegetable Growers (QFVG) have provided a summary submission to the Department of Primary Industries on the Queensland Primary Industries Prosper 2050 Blueprint draft. Read it here.
  2. Peak body for sugar farmers, CANEGROWERS, has welcomed the Queensland Government’s recent announcement of a Parliamentary Inquiry into the potential of sugarcane-based bioenergy, calling it a vital step towards building a modern, diversified sugarcane industry in Queensland. Read more here.
  3. The National Farmers’ Federation Horticulture Council has launched a national survey to capture the perspectives of growers facing ballooning red tape requirements. The organisation said compliance mandates are pushing growers to the brink of collapse. Read more here.
  4. QFF’s Farm Business Resilience Program will host a webinar on 7 July with Kylie Wilson from Sparke Helmore Lawyers providing practical information for agribusinesses about Wills and Estate Planning. Learn more and register here.
  5. Telstra has launched Australia’s first satellite-to-mobile text messaging service only available to customers with Galaxy S25 phones who pay up-front. Read more here.
  6. A new report from QFVG highlights how growers are improving productivity, sustainability, and profitability thanks to the Farm Business Resilience Program.  Read more here.
  7. Greenlife Industry Queensland (GIQ), in partnership with QFF via SmartAg Queensland, is excited to once again present a Weed out the Problems workshop to help solve small business problems, simplify systems and gain clarity for small business success. The workshop will be held on June 24 from 9:00am-4:00pm in Rocklea. Register here.
  8. Queensland Treasurer David Janetzki has revealed that $2.4 billion has been committed to the CopperString 2032 project in this year’s state budget. Read more here.
  9. The Queensland Government’s farm safety calendar competition is now open – Queensland primary school students are encouraged to draw and colour a picture to illustrate a farm safety message. Entries close Friday 27 June 2025. Read more here.
  10. The Australian Biosecurity Awards celebrate the individuals, groups and organisations that enhance Australia’s biosecurity system. Complete the online nomination form here to nominate an individual, group or organisation for an Australian Biosecurity Award. Nominations close 9 am AEST Monday 30 June 2025.
