- QFF is looking for participants for a 12-month paid work placement program. Participating AgTech Officers will apply their IT and/or agriculture skills with a leading AgTech or agronomy organisation. Expressions of interest for hosts and AgTech Officers are open here, with EOIs for hosts closing this Friday, 20 October, and AgTech Officer EOIs closing 12 November.

- QFF has released a new Consumer-Owned Energy Resources Interactive Market Map to assist stakeholders across the state to assess the appetite for consumer-owned energy resources across regional Queensland. The map, available here, is best viewed on desktop devices.
- Queensland’s 2023 sugarcane harvest has hit the halfway mark with over 50% of the estimated 30.1 million tonne crop now cut and crushed at the state’s 19 sugar mills. QFF member Canegrowers have shared their thoughts on the season so far

- The Queensland Government is delivering four regional water assessments (RWAs) across the state. The RWA process undertakes analysis to identify viable water solutions to support future economic growth. Public consultation is now underway for the draft Bundaberg and Burnett RWA. Provide feedback here by Thursday, 2 November.

- Australia is investing in a lumpy skin disease (LSD) vaccine supply agreement as a part of ongoing efforts to keep Australia free from LSD. The agreement will see an initial supply of 300,000 doses of LSD vaccine made available for Australia, Timor-Leste and Papua New Guinea (PNG), if required. Read more here.
- A major cotton operation in New South Wales is producing traceable anti-counterfeit ‘climate smart’ cotton, with global companies paying a premium of up to $60 per bale extra for their product. Learn more here.
