- CEO of QFF industry member Nursery and Garden Industry Queensland Ian Atkinson has been elected as Chair of the QFF-led Rural Jobs and Skills Alliance which provides leadership and advice on employment, skills, industry training and workforce planning issues on behalf of Queensland’s agriculture industries. - A team of Agriculture Coordination Officers are now available to support producers, the agriculture industry and local governments manage COVID-19. To contact an Officer email csc@daf.qld.gov.au or call 13 25 23. Find more information HERE.
- If your farm business needs to source additional workers, you can advertise your jobs on the Harvest Trail website or lodge vacancies directly onto JobSearch. You can register your business on the jobactive website to post positions for free. Also, consider contacting a licensed labour hire service provider.
- Travellers seeking seasonal work are not to visit farms directly. Instead, register your availability with Harvest Trail or call 1800 062 332. You won’t be able to enter Queensland unless you already have employment. Apply online for an entry pass, your employer is also required to have submitted a health plan.

- Fall armyworm has now been detected near Emerald, Richmond, Clermont and Biloela. Be alert but not alarmed. If you think you’ve seen fall armyworm, take some photos and call Biosecurity Queenslandon 13 25 23 or speak to your local biosecurity or extension officer.
