QFF President Stuart Armitage acknowledged and thanked the committee for their time and consideration in putting together the report and 5 recommendations in response to the 680 submissions, 140 witness appearances at 8 public consultations throughout the state.

“The committee should be commended for producing a report that accurately represents the diverse views both within the committee and from key stakeholders.”

“Further consultation and negotiation must now be held prior to the bill being returned to parliament.”

“QFF will work constructively with the Government, the Opposition and the Cross Bench Members to deliver an outcome that is mutually beneficial for our members and the community as a whole.”

“QFF calls upon the government to engage in a genuine consultative process to achieve a position that will lead to long term stability and ensures that Queensland’s vegetation management regime delivers a sustainable social, environmental and economic future for Queensland and its landholders.”
