Windlab backs Queensland Ag Energy Hub to support Queensland farmers and landholders

The Queensland Farmers’ Federation (QFF) is pleased to welcome Windlab as a foundation sponsor of the Queensland Ag Energy Hub. The Ag Energy Hub is a free online resource helping Queensland farmers and landholders make informed decisions about energy use and opportunities on their properties.

Launched in June 2024 with support from the Queensland Government, the Queensland Ag Energy Hub brings together trusted information about energy in agriculture, including case studies, reports and other industry resources, and the latest news across energy policy, on-farm energy efficiency and emerging on-farm energy technology.

The Ag Energy Hub is also hosts support information including the Energy Information Service for Landholders (EISL), a free phone service supporting farmers and landholders navigating a range of energy matters, including including tariffs, on-farm energy efficiency and renewables.

Windlab is a pioneering renewable energy company delivering utility-scale wind and solar projects across regional Australia. With a strong focus on regional partnerships and development, Windlab has helped unlock over 20 per cent of the connected wind energy in the National Electricity Market. The company is committed to building trust and creating long-term value through collaboration and transparency in the energy transition.

QFF CEO Jo Sheppard said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to ensuring farmers are empowered with the right information to support their decisions regarding energy.

“Windlab’s support helps ensure the Queensland Ag Energy Hub remains a go-to resource for practical, up-to-date and independent information on energy for farmers across the state,” Ms Sheppard said.

“Whether a farmer is exploring ways to improve energy efficiency, seeking information regarding tariff options for their enterprise, looking for grant funding to support on-farm energy technology adoption or responding to a renewable project development proposal in their region, the Ag Energy Hub offers valuable tools and guidance.”

Windlab CEO John Martin said the company is proud to support a platform that connects farmers to practical, trusted energy information.

“Our support for the Queensland Ag Energy Hub reflects our commitment to building trust and lifting standards across the industry. It’s about ensuring farmers have access to clear, independent information they can rely on to inform confident decisions for their businesses and land,” Mr Martin said.

“Landholders are central to Australia’s energy future. We believe informed communities lead to better outcomes, and our approach is grounded in transparency, respect, and genuine partnership.”

QFF thanks Windlab for their support of the Queensland Ag Energy Hub and encourages farmers to familiarise themselves with the resources that are available to them to assist in their decision-making process when it comes to energy.
