10 things to know from QFF – 21 August 2017

  1. The Queensland Government is investing $475,000 dollars to improve the quality of the Fitzroy Basin’s land, vegetation, water and reef resources. Minister for Natural Resources and Mines’s statement HERE.
  2. QFF industry member CANEGROWERS has criticised an attempt to scrap the Sugar Industry Code of Conduct saying it “undermines a valuable Queensland export industry”. Article HERE.
  3. Queensland Farmers’ Federation (QFF) has welcomed the Queensland Government’s decision to conduct an independent review into rural water metering. QFF statement HERE.
  4. The recently released South East Queensland Regional Plan has failed to address producers’ concerns with urban encroachment on rural industries. QFF statement HERE.
