- QFF has acknowledged the findings and recommendations of the Australian Academy of Science report, commissioned by the Federal Opposition, into the recent fish deaths in the Lower Darling river system at Menindee. Read QFF’s media statement HERE.
- Removing the retail price cap on fresh milk is a positive first step for dairy farmers across Queensland, who have endured eight years of unsustainable prices, as it puts pressure on the other supermarkets to follow suit. Read QFF’s QCL column HERE.
- QFF industry member Queensland Dairyfarmers’ Organisation has welcomed news that Woolworths will effectively cease sales of $1 milk. While there is still much more to be done, this is a positive first step for dairy farmers across the state. Read their media statement HERE.

- 71,000 flood affected people have benefitted from more than $13.9 million in Emergency Hardship Assistance payments. Farmers can also access financial assistance including loans, freight subsidies and recovery grants of $75,000. More information HERE.

- Consumers are encouraged to support disaster affected farmers by purchasing local produce and if necessary, pay a little more for it.
