- Queensland Fruit & Vegetable Growers (QFVG) is bringing specialised spray calibration training to Gympie, Gayndah and Bundaberg this November. - Queensland growers and industry can provide input into the state’s biosecurity settings, with the Government reviewing the prohibited and restricted matter lists under the Biosecurity Act. - The National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) has welcomed reports the EU Trade Commissioner will visit Australia next month to progress negotiations on an Australia–EU Free Trade Agreement. NFF President David Jochinke said any deal must deliver real agricultural market access, stressing that Australian agriculture is ready to stand alongside government in securing a fair and balanced agreement. - The Department of Primary Industries has updated its Locust Communication Toolkit, providing landholders, industry and local government with practical resources to help manage locust outbreaks. - In July this year, Telstra hit a major milestone: 1,014 Telstra public phones have now been upgraded in disaster-prone areas across Australia. Each of these public phones now includes battery backup, Free Telstra Wi-Fi, VoLTE connectivity, ensuring they stay online even when the power goes out. Read more here.
