- Free fire ant treatment kits are being delivered to 64,000 households across South East Queensland, alongside aerial treatments in cane-growing areas, to help combat one of the state’s biggest biosecurity threats to industry and communities. Read more.
- Coles has delayed its pledge to phase out caged eggs, citing bird flu disruptions and cost-of-living pressures. Caged eggs will stay on supermarket shelves until 2030, while governments have committed to a full industry phase-out by 2036. Read more.
- Australian agriculture is on track to hit $94.7 billion in 2025-26, edging closer to the sector’s $100 billion goal by 2030. The National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) says the lift is driven by strong livestock prices and smart investment from farmers but highlights the need for supportive policy settings to keep momentum.
