Held on the third Friday of November each year, National Agriculture Day provides Australian farmers and industry a chance to celebrate our sector while bringing awareness to consumers about the world class food, fibre and foliage, produced across the country.
This year’s National Agriculture Day will be held on Friday, 15 November and QFF will once again be celebrating with a breakfast event that brings together political and industry leaders to share their vision for the future of the agriculture sector in Queensland.
Last year’s event featured a keynote session on AgTech and expert panel featuring representatives from one of CSIRO’s venture capital firms, Agribusiness Connect’s AgTech and Logistics Hub, Cotton Australia, Canegrowers and Queensland Fruit & Vegetable Growers which explored the innovation being seen across the cotton, cane, and horticulture industries.
This year, the event will fall only a few weeks after the Queensland State Government Election, which is scheduled for 26 October, and will offer the political leaders in the room an early opportunity to present their policy priorities to industry.
In addition to our breakfast event the QFF team will be running a digital campaign to bring attention to why we all need farmers every day, I will share more details about how you can get involved next month.
There will be plenty of other events to celebrate National Agriculture Day across the state and I encourage readers to visit the National Farmers’ Federation’s National Agriculture Day website to attend an event in their region.
For those in Brisbane on the day, book your ticket and join the QFF board, peak body members, corporate partners, industry leaders, and ministerial guests, to network and contribute to the conversation as we work together to build a strong future for Queensland agriculture.
Tickets sold out in 2023, so be sure to book early to avoid disappointment this year by visiting qff.org.au/events/
