The Ag Climate Forum is a two-day event for agricultural and NRM extension officers, agro-industry professionals, rural leaders and environmental decision makers, to do exactly that. An initiative of the Burnett Mary Regional Group, it features guest speakers at the forefront of climate science research, policy and practice in Agriculture.
Presentations will be from the University of Melbourne, Australian Carbon Traders, the State Government (QLD, VIC, NSW), Queensland Murray Darling Committee, and industry stakeholders working in Beef, Horticulture, Viticulture and Cropping.
The forum will showcase findings of local climate science research projects in cane, grains, and horticulture, and identify key findings and effective means of utilising this information. It will additionally canvas international policy and agreements influencing agriculture in Australia, and existing mechanisms to measure/reduce emissions, sequester carbon, and earn carbon credits.
Cost: $75 per person (includes overnight accommodation, meals, wine tasting experience)
