Next week QFF will be heading to one of Queensland’s powerhouse agricultural regions – Far North Queensland – to attend northern Australia’s largest field day, FNQ Field Days.
Far North Queensland is a highly productive and varied agricultural region across multiple industries, including numerous horticulture commodities, as well as sugarcane, dairying and grazing. FNQ Field Days, which will be held from 28 – 30 May in 2025, plays a key role in bringing together the region’s farmers, agribusinesses and community.
In 2023 the event attracted more than 16,000 attendees and 450 exhibitors, with this year’s event expected to be even bigger, which is a testament to the good work of the Rotary Clubs of Atherton and Mareeba, who we congratulate for putting on this wonderful event to the benefit of their local communities, as well as the broader agricultural supply chain.
On Thursday, 29 May QFF will be hosting a sold-out AgTech and Innovation Breakfast event alongside our peak body members Canegrowers and Queensland Fruit & Vegetable Growers (QFVG).
The breakfast event will provide industry the opportunity to hear from Queensland Minister for Primary Industries the Hon Tony Perrett MP and Minister for Local Government and Water and Minister for Fire, Disaster Recovery and Volunteers the Hon Ann Leahy MP.
With each Minister holding an incredibly important portfolio for North Queensland, this breakfast event will also offer guests the chance to network with ministerial guests, representatives from QFF peak body members, industry leaders and other key stakeholders, and be part of the conversation about how innovation is driving enhanced efficiency, productivity and profitability in Queensland agriculture.
The National Farmers’ Federation, Telstra and Farmsafe Australia will also be attending FNQ Field Days, holding a forum discussing policy, innovation and safety following our breakfast event.
Agritourism Queensland will also be in attendance for a discussion on agritourism, with the full three-day program featuring conversations on agritourism, sustainability, and agri commodity performance, as well as farm tours and AgTech showcases.
On Thursday afternoon, QFF will be joining a panel discussion alongside our members Canegrowers and QFVG on social license which is not to be missed.
Field days and agricultural shows like FNQ Field Days provide regional communities and industry a valuable chance to network and work together on the opportunities and challenges facing our sector.
The QFF team look forward to having these conversations with farmers and industry representatives at our exhibitor site within the Ag & Innovation Industry Bodies Exhibit area near the main arena. If you are attending FNQ Field Days make sure to stop in and say hello!
